What is a FORESTRY PARK?

A forestry park is an example of sustainable forest and landscape management facility with an exemplary balance of the three pillars, emphasising the specific aspects of the given site. Forestry parks guarantee the development of sustainable tourism, game keeping and other stakeholder interests, while supporting scientific research, monitoring, training of experts and the general public as well as fostering international cooperation and projects which focus on sustainable landscape management. Forestry parks are based on the voluntary and participatory approach of stakeholders whose forest governance draws on best practices in forest management with the objective to safeguard the availability of wood as an important renewable resource while maintaining the provision of economic income of the local inhabitants and maximizing the conservation of biodiversity.

As of today, four forestry parks have been designated on the territory of the Czech Republic. They constitute three sites within MF CR in accordance with the Forestry Park Standards approved by the Ministry of Agriculture in 2010.
